Add Conflicts to Calendar
We need to be able to see conflicts on the schedule. When creating a master rehearsal schedule it's not feasible to always use the Add Call function. Sometimes we need to be able to see ALL conflicts on the calendar for master planning & scheduling.
We need your feedback regarding our proposed changes to Conflict Filtering, Please let us know your thoughts as soon as possible.
Current system functions:
-A user sees all of their CALLS and their CONFLICTS in the schedule (“My Call” default).
-When a user selects “All Calls,” the site continues to show all of their CALLS & CONFLICTS, then also shows everyone else’s CALLS. Other’s CONFLICTS are NOT shown. (There are no restrictions based on user levels.)
-CONFLICTS can be filtered out of the Schedule, through the Call Type Filter.

Changes that we are making:
-When a L3 or L4 user selects “All Calls,” the site continues to show their CALLS & CONFLICTS, it will also show everyone else’s CALLS and CONFLICTS.
-L3 & L4 users will, by default, see ALL CONFLICTS of their productions in the schedule.
-CONFLICTS can be filtered out of the Schedule, through the Call Type Filter.
IMPORTANT:
*L3-Manager & L4-Administrator will see other’s conflicts as:
Conflict: (with link to detail-if set as public)

Agree that manager/admin should be notified when a conflict is entered (seeing details). Having an approved/not approved option for manager/admin to utilize on requested conflict would be useful. We do not approve all conflicts and there are grade consequences for not attending calls as required. The L1 & L2 users would only see approved conflicts (no details required).

Another idea is to have an "All Users" option on the conflicts management page, so that we could select a Production, a range of dates, and then see all of the conflicts for all users assigned to that production in that range of dates.

I don't think that ALL users need to be able to see ALL Conflicts. As an L3 or L4, I would like to have the option to see everyone's conflicts. Perhaps there could be an "Show All Conflicts" button next to "All Calls" so we could have the ability to view conflicts next to calls. It would help with planning rehearsals.

Proposed function changes:
IMHO - User does not need to see Other's conflicts after selecting All Calls if they are not *L3-Manager & L4-Administrator.
I strongly agree with user suggestion that Manager / Administrator should be notified if a user adds a conflict.

A month and a half later, no update. Can we please get an idea of when/how this will be implemented?

Yes, please!! How do you know if someone adds a new conflict? Major problem!

This has been a real problem for my show lately. People have been adding their own conflicts, but with a cast of 40+ people, I don't have time to go in to every individual person to see their new conflicts. While a list of all conflicts in date order would be ideal, even adding a notification when someone adds a conflict would at least be an initial help while doing the programming to show a conflict calendar!!

We have been asking for this as well. Simply be able to choose which production, choose a date range, and see all users conflicts. Preferably list view sorted by date.

Sam - so basically right now in the calendar view you can see your OWN conflicts, but not everyone else's. When trying to schedule a large-scale show, it helps to be able to look at a calendar of who is available or not available on particular days when scheduling. So, for instance, if I'm scheduling rehearsals and need to have Bob there at some point during a particular week, there's no way for me to look at that week and see if he's around or gone without going day by day and trying to Find Available, which isn't at all practical.

Hi Dan -
Tell me more about what you're envisioning. Do you want to see conflicts in a list view, daily view, weekly view, monthly view, or all calendar views? Do you want to see them for all users in a production or just a select number of users?
Thanks,
Sam
