Reservation availability incorrectly blocks valid mid-timeline reservations
When an item has multiple reservations across a longer time span (e.g., several months), adding a new reservation that falls between existing reservations can incorrectly show the item as unavailable — even when quantity should be sufficient.
Users report that if they delete overlapping reservations and then rebuild them in chronological order, the system will allow the reservations, suggesting a quantity recalculation issue rather than true unavailability.
*Observed behavior
-Item appears unavailable when inserting a reservation between existing reservations
-System reports insufficient quantity when quantity should be available
-Rebuilding reservations in order resolves the issue temporarily
*Expected behavior
-Availability should be calculated accurately regardless of reservation creation order
-Users should be able to insert reservations anywhere on the timeline if quantity permits
*Workaround currently used
-Delete overlapping reservations
-Recreate reservations sequentially in order
We are going to investigate this issue.
