Add a group

A group is a saved set of people, like "Stage Crew" or "Understudies," that you can call, message or share files with in one click. You'll need the Manage Groups permission, which managers and administrators usually have.

You can start a group from any screen that lets you pick people, or from Production Administration.

Add a group

  1. Open a screen with a people picker. Click Add Call under Schedule, Send Note under Notes & Email, or New Post under Discussion. Or go to Administration > Production Administration, click the cog on the production's row, and choose Manage User Groups.
  2. Make sure the right production is selected.
  3. Click the tab for the kind of group you want: Departments, Groups or Roles.
  4. Click the button at the bottom. It reads Add Departments, Add Groups or Add Roles, depending on the tab.
  5. Choose Add New, or copy groups from another production, then click Next.
  6. Type a Name, check the people to include, and click Save.

The new group appears in the list, ready to pick. If you work across several productions, start the name with the production's abbreviation in parentheses, like "(HAM) Stage Crew." It's easier to spot when groups from all productions are in one list.

A group you add here belongs to the production you selected. You can change it any time: see Edit a group and Delete a group.
