Deactivate a user

Deactivating a user shuts off their sign-in without deleting anything they've done. You'll need the Deactivate / Reactivate Users permission, which the Administrator role includes.

Deactivation applies to the whole site, not one production. If the person is only leaving one show, choose Remove from production in the same row menu instead.

  1. Go to Administration > User Administration.
  2. On the Active Users tab, find the person. Before you go further, check which productions they're on, so you don't cut off someone who's still in a current show.
  3. Click the gear at the end of their row and choose Deactivate.
  4. Press OK when asked to confirm.

You'll see "User has been deactivated," and the person moves to the Deactivated Users tab. They can no longer sign in and stop receiving notifications.

To deactivate several people at once, tick the boxes next to their names and click the Deactivate button that appears above the table.

Changed your mind?

Open the Deactivated Users tab, click Reactivate on their row, and confirm with Reactivate User. You can tick a box there to reset their password and send a new invitation email. If you expect someone back for a future production, it's fine to leave them active.

Once everyone from a finished show is squared away, you can archive the production.
