Set up TXT messaging
TXT messaging sends call changes, notes and other notifications to your cast and crew as texts. You turn it on for the site, then each person opts in for their own phone.
Turn on TXT messaging for your site
TXT messaging is an add-on to your VirtualCallboard plan. See the pricing page for details.
- Go to Administration > Invoices/Payments and choose Change Subscription Package. Whoever handles billing for your account can add TXT messaging there.
- Go to Administration > Site Administration > Notifications (you'll need the Modify Site Settings permission). The TXT Messages box shows On.
- Under Which notifications send a TXT, switch off any you don't want texted. They all start on, and a switched-off notification still goes out by email and in the app.
The same box shows how many people have confirmed (Confirmed), haven't replied yet (Waiting for YES) or have opted out (Replied STOP). For calls, managers still choose each time with the Send Notification box.
What each person does
Texts only go to people who ask for them, and only to US mobile numbers.
- Go to your name in the top right > My Account > Phone Numbers / TXT Messaging.
- Add your number and set its type to Mobile.
- Click Enable TXT Notifications. You'll get a text from VirtualCallboard.
- Reply YES. The number now shows TXT Notifications, and texts start.
No text yet? Click Send Start Message (or Re-send Start Message) on that number. If someone replies STOP, texts stop; they can text START to the same number to resume.
