Receive notifications by text message, email, or both

Each person chooses for themselves, and yes, you can get texts and email both. Turn on whichever you want in My Account.

Turn on TXT messages

  1. Click your profile image or name, then My Account.
  2. Open Phone Numbers / TXT Messaging.
  3. Add your cell number and set its type to Mobile. TXT only works on Mobile numbers.
  4. Click Enable TXT Notifications, then save.
  5. Reply YES to the text you receive. Until you do, the number shows Waiting for YES reply; Re-send Start Message sends it again.

Once the number shows TXT Notifications, you're set. Reply STOP to any text to pause them, and text START to resume.

Keep email on too

Open Addresses in My Account and set Receive Email from Site to Yes. With both on, you'll get both.

If texts don't arrive

Your site has to have TXT messaging turned on, and an administrator can switch off texts for particular kinds of notification. TXT messages go to US numbers only. Administrators can find the site-wide setup in Setting up the TXT/SMS (text messaging) system.
