Get notifications by TXT message

Notifications can be received by email, push notification (mobile app) and TXT messaging. Each person controls how they receive notifications on the Notifications page under My Account.

Turn on TXT messages

  1. Click your name at the top right and choose My Account.
  2. Open Phone Numbers / TXT Messaging.
  3. Click Add Phone Number, enter your cell number and set its type to Mobile. TXT works only on Mobile numbers. There's no Save button: each number saves as you change it.
  4. Click Enable TXT Notifications. You'll get a text from (972) 975-9797 asking you to confirm.
  5. Reply YES. The number then shows TXT Notifications.

You can turn TXT on before your site has TXT messaging. Until the site turns it on, the number shows "Texts start once your site turns on TXT messages."

If the text doesn't arrive, the number shows Waiting for YES reply. Click Re-send Start Message to send another.

Choose which notifications you get by text

Go to My Account > Notifications and untick the TXT box for each kind of notification you don't want texted. The TXT column appears only when your site has TXT messaging. See Choose how you get each kind of notification.

Stop, start or change your number

  • Reply STOP to any text to stop them. Text START to (972) 975-9797 to turn them back on.
  • Click Disable TXT Notifications on the number to turn it off from your account.
  • To change a number that has TXT on, turn TXT off for it first, then edit it and turn TXT back on.

Keep email on too

Open Addresses in My Account and set Receive Email from Site to Yes. With email and TXT both on, notifications arrive both ways.

If texts don't arrive

Your site has to have TXT messaging turned on, and an administrator can switch off texts for particular kinds of notification. TXT messages go to US numbers only. Administrators can find the site-wide setup in Turn on TXT messaging for your site.
