VirtualCallboard App Stuck in Demo Mode or Login Field Prepopulates With Old URL
To help users resolve issues where the VirtualCallboard mobile app only opens in Demo Mode and the login screen auto-fills with an old or incorrect site URL that cannot be edited.
If a user previously installed VirtualCallboard—especially years ago—the device may retain old cached login data. This can cause:
The login URL field to prepopulate with an outdated site URL
The text box to appear “frozen” or uneditable
The app to only open in Demo Mode
On the login screen, you will see a field that begins with:
http:// .virtualcallboard.com
(or your site’s custom domain, if applicable)
To update the field:
Tap between the http:// and .virtualcallboard.com — even if it looks uneditable
This should activate the cursor and allow you to type your correct site URL
If tapping doesn’t activate the field, try tapping the small “!” icon inside the field to reset it
Enter your full URL and tap Next
Many users report that tapping between the URL segments is the key to unlocking the field.
If the URL field still won’t allow editing, or the app continues to open in Demo Mode, try the following steps:
Fully close the VirtualCallboard app
Check for any app updates in the App Store or Google Play
Restart your phone
Delete and reinstall the VirtualCallboard app
These actions clear outdated cached data and restore normal login behavior.
