Print labels for your items

đź”´ StageStock

StageStock prints ready-made labels for your items on Avery label sheets. Each label has the item's name, ID number, category and QR code, and the QR code opens the item in your inventory (still protected by your category permissions). You'll need the Export Labels permission for the item's category.

  1. Go to Inventory > Search and Check Out.
  2. Switch to the List view.
  3. Tick the box beside each item you want a label for.
  4. Click Print Labels and choose your label sheet: Avery 5160 (30 per sheet, 2-5/8 x 1 in) or Avery 5161 (20 per sheet, 4 x 1 in).
  5. If any item has a quantity above 1, StageStock asks whether to Print only one label or Print a label for each unit (numbered 1 / 3, 2 / 3 and so on).
  6. The labels come as a PDF. Print it at 100% scale (no "fit to page") on US Letter, with the matching label sheets loaded.

Labels for items in categories where you don't have the Export Labels permission are left out, and StageStock tells you which ones.

Tags, costumes and cables

Print on sheets of label stock like these, cut them to shape, and stick them on tags like these, or straight onto the item.

The printed labels always carry a QR code. If you'd rather use Code 39 barcodes, which encode the item's ID number, set the category's Barcode Type to 1D Barcode (Code 39) and either:

  • buy pre-printed tags, such as from IPC, or
  • print them yourself with a label printer.

For cables, there's a printer made for that. A strip of clear tape over the label keeps it readable.
