Scan a QR code or bar code to find an item
đź”´ StageStock
Scan an item's QR code or bar code and StageStock takes you straight to that item. You can scan with a phone camera, the StageStock app, or a USB scanner at a desktop.
Each category uses one kind of code, set by its Barcode Type (QR Code or 1D Barcode (Code 39)). Whichever you use, you'll only see items you have permission to view. Someone without a site login, or without access to the item's category, is stopped at the door.
Scan with your phone's camera
This works with QR codes. Open your phone's regular camera app and point it at the code. The QR code is the web address of the item's detail page, so tapping the link that pops up takes you right to the item.

Scan with the StageStock app (iOS and Android)
- On the Inventory tab, tap Scan at the bottom of the screen.

- Point the scan window at the item's QR code or Code 39 bar code. The item's detail page opens on its own.

Scan with a USB scanner at a desktop
A USB scanner types what it reads, like a keyboard, so it reads Code 39 bar codes. Those carry the item's ID, which is what StageStock looks up.
- On Search and Check Out, click Scan, near the search bar.

- When the scan window opens, read the bar code with your scanner.

A moment after the scan, your browser opens that item's detail page.

If you see Item ... not found. Please, scan the code again, StageStock couldn't match what was scanned to an item ID. Try the scan again, or check that the item's ID matches its bar code.
