Import items from a spreadsheet

← StageStock: Setup and import

Moving your inventory over from another system, or building it in Excel or another spreadsheet first? Send us a spreadsheet and we'll import your items into StageStock for you. It's a request to support, not a button in the app.

Prepare your import

  1. Add your categories, spaces and positions (locations), and item conditions to StageStock first. Items need somewhere to land.
  2. Email support@theemptyspace.com and ask for the category, location and item condition exports for your account. Each row has a unique ID, and you'll use those IDs in your spreadsheet.
  3. Download the CSV template.
  4. Fill in one line per item.
  5. Send the finished spreadsheet to support@theemptyspace.com.

We can usually import a spreadsheet without errors in about 24 hours. If something needs fixing, we'll write to you.

What can't be imported

  • Item images
  • Item tags
  • Item history

Add those in StageStock after the import. Tags and photos go quickly once the items are there.
