Choose an item's visibility

An item's Visibility setting decides who can see it. In practice there are two behaviors: restricted items are hidden from most people, and everything else is visible to everyone with access to the category.

Set it on the item's Add or Edit page, using the Visibility drop-down.

  • Internal: seen by everyone who has access to the item's category.
  • Restricted: seen only by people in the category whose role includes View Restricted Items.
  • Shared Privately and Shared Publicly: right now these behave exactly like Internal. Items are not shared with other StageStock sites or with the public.

Use Restricted for anything you want kept to a smaller group, such as your most valuable pieces.
