User Permission Assignment
Purpose
To provide a central overview of how Permission Roles work in both VirtualCallboard and StageStock, and to list where you can find the detailed permission tables for each platform.
How Permission Roles Are Assigned
VirtualCallboard
-
Each user is given a Permission Role for every Production they are assigned to.
-
In addition, users can be assigned to one or more Administrative–Common Permission Roles that affect how they interact with the overall site (outside any single production).
StageStock
-
Each user is given a Permission Role for each category or area they are assigned to (for example, specific inventory categories, departments, or locations depending on how your site is configured).
-
Users can also be assigned to Administrative–Common Permission Roles that affect their access to global settings and shared site-wide tools.
Common Permission Role Levels
Both VirtualCallboard and StageStock use the same four standard Permission Role levels:
| Role | General Description (Applies to Both Platforms) |
|---|---|
| Viewer | View-only access to assigned productions/areas. Cannot create, edit, or delete records, and cannot change settings. |
| Contributor | Can create and edit records (such as items, events, or calls) within their assigned areas, but has limited or no access to administrative settings. |
| Manager | Can manage records within assigned areas and may configure some area-specific settings (such as categories, productions, or workflows). |
| Administrator | Broadest access. Can manage site-wide settings, user accounts, permission roles, and global configuration. Use with care. |
Note: The exact capabilities of each role are defined separately for VirtualCallboard and StageStock. Use the detailed permission tables linked below for precise behavior.
